This course covers the basic principles of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. Topics covered are: 1) the fundamentals of the heating system, 2) the operating concepts of the refrigeration cycle, 3) mechanical equipment and material to create air distribution, 4) refrigerant handling to include leak detection, evacuation, recovery, and charging, 5) techniques used to troubleshoot gas heating and cooling systems, 6) basic installation and maintenance practices, and 7) layout, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal duck systems. EPA certification test fee included. (You must hold EPA certification in order to purchase and work with AC chemicals).
